Braai uses multi-signal age assurance that goes beyond simple self-declaration. When there is uncertainty, the system defaults to the safer classification. Minors and adults experience architecturally separated products.

We have replaced high-risk design patterns with safer alternatives:

• Infinite scroll → Natural stopping points and pagination
• Variable reward loops → Predictable, transparent content ordering
• Engagement-based ranking → Hybrid recency + user-declared interests
• Push re-engagement loops → User-scheduled notifications
• Social validation metrics → Private or delayed feedback

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parental Controls

Parents and guardians have access to a dedicated dashboard where they can view activity summaries, manage connections, and configure protections. Content sensitivity filters are enabled by default for all minor accounts.

🌙 Circadian Protections

Braai implements time-awareness features that respect sleep patterns and wellbeing. Notification governance ensures the platform doesn't disrupt rest, and session awareness helps users maintain healthy interaction patterns.

📋 Content Review

Multi-layered content review processes evaluate all user-generated content. The minor feed excludes potentially harmful material by default. Rapid response processes are in place for content escalation.

🌐 Regulatory Alignment

Braai is designed to align with global data protection and online safety frameworks including POPIA (South Africa), GDPR (EU), COPPA (US), the EU Digital Services Act, and the UK Online Safety Act. We build to the strictest regime.
